SUSAN G. RAPHAEL, LMFT

Susan G. Raphael, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in treating individuals, couples and families for over 20 years. She earned her BS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and her masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University.
In addition to private practice Ms. Raphael has facilitated parenting groups, developed psycho-educational groups on parenting children from birth through the college years, and served as director of Family Services in an outpatient mental health setting. In addition, she has addressed schools and general audiences on parenting issues. She works with individuals, couples and families struggling with transition, substance abuse, relationship issues, parenting issues, separation and divorce, stress, anxiety, depression, aging, and issues of self-esteem in women and girls. Her expertise includes counseling families in the navigation of the college process and the transition to empty nest.
Ms. Raphael uses a variety of therapeutic techniques including family systems, cognitive, psychoanalytic, structural, and solution focused therapy. She is also trained in Positive Parenting and Level 1 Gottman Couples Therapy.
